Description

The University of Montana invites applications for an Associate Director of Accounts Payable for Business Services . This position is responsible for being the campus expert to constituents on policies and procedures concerning Accounts Payable. You will serve also as a consulting resource for campus in related functions, processes, and procedures.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices for Accounts Payable
  • Serve as the main contact person for his/her assigned areas to answer questions, provide instruction and assist stakeholders with utilizing the University’s electronic procurement system, Jaggaer, to its maximum benefit
  • Maintain records to support bids, RFPs, contracts, and purchase orders
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable as required on purchase order invoice payments
  • Coordinate audits of all aspects of the accounts payable process
  • Report on various trends and changes in accounts payable to other directors and O&F leadership
  • Direct vendor processes
  • Oversee and manage payment integration systems for campus
  • Coordinate with Procurement Director to maintain University policies for all aspects of accounts payable
  • Coordinate with Procurement Director to manage and develop various rebate program
  • Responsible for exercising appropriate oversight and supervision of staff (Currently four (4) accounts payable persons directly and 50 plus financial managers and office managers from departments across campus).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws ProCard, travel, and disbursements
  • Knowledge of 1099 reporting
  • Knowledge of eProcurement
  • Knowledge of ePayables
  • Knowledge of PaymentWorks
  • Knowledge of integrity card management systems
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, judgment, independent thought and action, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to complete tasks accurately in a busy environment while providing attention to detail.
  • Policy management and creation experience
  • Group trainings
  • Public speaking and delivery of initiatives and messages
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business, or related field or,
  • Previous Accounts Payable management experience
