POSITION:
Teaching Assistant Professor, TL055, Full-time: 100% appointment, Instructional Academic Staff, Ongoing/Renewable, Academic (9-month), one Vacancy 

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Health and Human Performance Department at UW-Superior invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor of Physical Education. The qualified applicant will design and facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction within an academic discipline to ensure quality delivery of instruction and integration of content within an academic work unit. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.  Advises students, facilitates course assessment, and may supervise student employees. Develops a program of scholarly work that informs or contributes to teaching and learning.  Provides service as a contributing member of the department and a participant in university and professional service. 

JOB DUTIES:
•    Instruction of 12 credits per semester within all departmental course prefixes (COAC, HHP, HHPEd, HLTH) online and in the classroom.
•    Advise students majoring in K-12 Physical Education and other students as assigned.
•    Work collaboratively to ensure the K-12 Physical Education teacher preparation program maintains compliance with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
•    Program development and promotion, with adherence to national standards.  
•    Develop and maintain positive working relationships with university employees, school districts, and community partners.
•    Assist with revisions of catalog copy, advisement sheets, and website.
•    Engage in curriculum planning, assessment, review, and mapping.
•    Engage in scholarship in field(s) of academic expertise.
•    Engage in departmental, university, and community service.   

Other Duties:
•    Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
•    Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
•    Earned master’s degree in Physical Education and/or Health Education and/or related field*.
•    Earned bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and/or Health Education and/or related field*.
*At least one degree must include health education licensure preparation and at least one degree must include physical education licensure preparation)
•    Licensure in K-12 (Physical Education and Health Education).
•    Minimum three (3) years public school teaching experience in physical education and health at K-12 level.

This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
•    Experience with Coaching.
•    Coursework and licensure in Adapted Physical Education.

SALARY & BENEFITS:    
Salary range for this position is: $54,000 - $59,000 annually. Specific benefit information can be found here. A snapshot of benefits offered for this position include:
