The School of Music is seeking an Assistant Professor of Applied Voice (Commercial Voice). Full-time, 9-month, tenure track.
Required: MM in Vocal performance or MM in Musical Theatre, DMA preferred (ABD considered), outstanding performance skills, successful college teaching experience, and qualifications to teach applied voice to students pursuing all genres of the vocal profession – musical theatre, commercial voice, classical, opera, pop, and rock.
The primary duty of this position is to recruit and train undergraduate and graduate students who are preparing for professional careers in singing in all genres of the music industry – musical theatre, pop, opera, and future music educators. The ideal candidate will be proficient in healthy vocal pedagogy techniques for belting and jazz techniques, in addition to standard classical vocal techniques. Additional responsibilities will include classroom assignments made based on the strengths of the candidate and the needs of the School of Music.
