JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Summer Enrollment & Engagement, the Coordinator of STEM Start provides hiring, supervision, programming, marketing, and on-boarding support for the STEM Start program, a summer enrollment and academic support program for first generation and low-income students with a STEM major. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Hiring and Supervision: Coordinates and implements student employee processes for undergraduate peer leaders and graduate assistants including recruitment, application materials, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, and ongoing training. Responsible for connecting with campus partners for the peer leader training.
30% - Essential - Programming and Events: Designs and implements recruitment, welcome and on-boarding activities including virtual information sessions in the spring and the Summer/STEM Start welcome session in concert with Ready Set Roar!. Responsible for the development and oversight of the STEM Start program-specific activities which include employer visits, career programming, student success workshops and other activities. Works in concert with the summer programming and engagement series. Assists throughout the year with major events in the department.
20% - Essential - Communication and Marketing: Oversees and works collaboratively on all aspects of communication and marketing. Responsible for the development and implementation of information sessions. Manages on-boarding communication documents including FAQ and Next Steps. Collaborates with the Office of Admissions in the development of marketing tools and resources including the website and SLATE integration. Assists in the management of phone calls and emails from students and parents. Manages Social Media account.
10% - Essential - Other Duties: Assist with planning, coordination and execution of other divisional/ departmental programs and initiatives. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Experience - 2+ years of relevant experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree
Experience - 2 years of experience managing student service or student mentor programs
RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Hiring Range ($43,000.00 - $48,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
