JOB SUMMARY:
SNAP-Ed is a federal/state partnership that supports health education for persons eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. This position will provide health education and program promotion. Coordinate data collection and review for accuracy to support preparation of required program materials. This position is classified as telecommuting and requires travel. This position is responsible for outreach in Anderson and Abbeville County.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Program Delivery:
Conduct virtual and in-person health education programs for SNAP participants at approved locations, including single and series lessons. Create content for use in online/virtual health education programs. Provide technical assistance to Health Educators with setting up virtual/online classes. Help facilitate classes and co-teach as needed. Participate in meetings with community contacts that have eligible SNAP populations. Maintain monthly calendar of activities, order materials and supplies.
30% - Essential - Program Outreach:
Build and maintain relationships with community partners to advocate for policy, systems, and environmental approaches to guide nutrition and physical activity behavior changes related to obesity prevention for the target population. Help identify and develop a cohesive social marketing strategy that supports SNAP-Ed programs and partnerships. Identify opportunities for social media outreach. Assist with creating appropriate content and managing the social media presence.
15% - Essential - Program Evaluation:
Conduct participant evaluations using pre- and post- assessments. Evaluate program participants for annual summary and EARS reports. Collect required demographic information on the clients served. Follow-up with contacts at the education sites. Participate in team development of program evaluation and staff training regarding delivery and evaluation methods.
15% - Essential - Administrative:
Track expenses for classroom materials, food supplies, office supplies and travel mileage. Complete monthly time and effort tracking documents. Submit required documentation for expenses and effort accurately and timely. Maintain necessary SNAP records for auditing purposes. This includes hard copies and electronic files. Inventory material and supplies. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - A high school diploma and experience in a public health area. A bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion or a closely related field such as psychology, biology, sociology, education or physical education may be substituted for the required experience.
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - Nutrition, dietetics, community nutrition, public health, health promotion, or a closely related field

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range ($ 32,686.00 - $36.652.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
