Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

A full-time non-tenure track position is available in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

We invite applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Practice position. We are seeking candidates in Exercise Physiology. Individuals interested in the Assistant Professor of Practice position should have a passion for teaching and mentorship, with a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (90%) in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Physiology, and related areas.
  2. This role may also involve supervising students during clinical internships.
  3. Engaging in service activities (10%) that contribute to the mission of the department and university.
  4. Contribution to program development and community outreach related to exercise physiology and clinical practice is also expected.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D.in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field; or a master's degree and exceptional experience as a clinical exercise physiologist, particularly in cardiac rehabilitation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Individuals with an ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification. Individuals with demonstrated real-life experience, especially working in a cardiac rehab center, are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in teaching Clinical Exercise Testing and Prescription and Electrocardiography.
