Job Description:

The Program Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and initiatives within the Center for Data Analytics’. This role will focus on coordinating various training sessions, student engagement activities, infrastructure upgrades, and scholarship programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, with a passion for data analytics and education.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Oversight:
    • Lead, supervise, and manage research teams and data lab operations within the Center for Data Analytics, including the Truist Data Analytics Research, Trading, and Technology (DARTT) Lab.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate research and lab management strategies to ensure efficient operations and alignment with institutional goals.
    • Manage project costs, schedules, and performance while ensuring high-quality project and lab deliverables.
  • Program Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and manage detailed project plans for the Center's initiatives, including training programs, student engagement, infrastructure upgrades, and scholarship opportunities.
    • Coordinate with faculty, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of workshops, training sessions, and other programs.
    • Oversee the implementation of data lab initiatives, ensuring programs align with industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • Team Management:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, ensuring daily tasks are aligned with overall project objectives.
    • Facilitate regular team meetings to review progress and address challenges, coordinating efforts across research projects and lab activities.
  • Training and Student Engagement:
    • Organize and coordinate training sessions on key data analytics software, collaborating with industry experts to develop relevant content.
    • Revitalize and manage student-led activities, such as the Data Tribe Club, by organizing workshops, seminars, and networking events that foster community and engagement in data analytics.
  • Infrastructure and Technology Management:
    • Assess technology needs for the labs and procure necessary tools and equipment, ensuring the infrastructure meets industry standards for security, privacy, and ethical use.
    • Keep the labs current with emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics.
  • Partnership Development and Funding:
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders, including Truist, to enhance program offerings and provide real-world insights to students.
    • Assist with pursuing funding opportunities for lab enhancements and research projects.
  • Evaluation and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, initiatives, and training sessions, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on program and lab outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience managing large-scale research projects and overseeing data-driven initiatives, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Expertise in data protection, research ethics, regulatory compliance, project management, and the use of centralized/single IRBs.
  • Experience managing data labs, including infrastructure upgrades, program coordination, and data security protocols.
  • Proficiency in organizing training sessions, workshops, and student engagement activities related to data analytics.
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data analytics software/tools is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (additional experience may substitute for required education)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business administration, Education, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a university environment.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in data analytics education.
  • Experience managing a data lab
