Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Lecturer in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.: 530450), to commence on January 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a master’s degree or equivalent in journalism, communication or related fields, with at least 5 years’ experience of proven professional and practical experience in reporter, editor or content creator.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching reporting and writing at undergraduate level, common core courses and capstone courses. They will also contribute to student admission, programme promotion and course development. Knowledge in student advising and admission will be a definite advantage.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
