Özyeğin University, a vibrant and innovative institution located in Istanbul, invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or early Associate Professor. We are seeking outstanding candidates with a proven track record in research and teaching, who are eager to contribute to the interdisciplinary academic environment of our university.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Economics and related disciplines). Strong potential for or proven ability to conduct high-quality research, as evidenced by publications in leading academic journals.
  • For assistant professors a minimum of 2 x Q1/Q2 (WoS) publications are desired, whereas for associate professors a minimum of 4 x Q1/Q2 (WoS) publications and 2 top-tier book chapters, published in the last 5 years is a guideline.
  Commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. (Course load is 2+2) Interdisciplinary research experience and collaborations are highly desirable. For the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have a robust research portfolio, substantial teaching and project background.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver innovative undergraduate and graduate courses. Engage in high-impact research, leading to publications in top-tier academic journals. Supervise graduate students and contribute to the development of the department’s academic programs. Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives. Have a strong research plan in place to apply for TUBITAK, Horizon, and ERC grants Actively engage in service to the university, professional organizations, and the wider academic community.

• A cover letter detailing research interests, teaching experience, and future plans – especially related to works in progress, application plans for major grants and which faculty members the applicant is interested in developing collaborations and on which existing projects.
• Curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
• Two recent publication samples (for assistant professor applicants, two ready-to-submit works in progress are also accepted if there are no accepted publications)
• Contact information for two academic references.

Short-listed applicants will then be asked to provide the following:

• Teaching evaluations (if available).
• Two academic references.
