General Summary

The Eastern Michigan University School of Technology and Professional Services Management invites applications for a Part-time Lecturer for the Aviation Program. The successful candidate will teach Aviation dispatch courses including Aircraft Dispatch I and Aircraft Dispatch II in compliance with FAA certification requirements. Further consideration may be given to those with the ability to teach or assist in other academic areas as determined by candidate expertise. This part-time appointment (no benefits) will begin in the Winter 2025 semester.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.

Perform related departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Aviation or equivalent.

Dispatch Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree

College or university teaching experience.

The department/school may approve exceptions or equivalencies that demonstrate relative background in academic research and/or professional accomplishments on a case-by-case basis.
