General Summary

The GameAbove College of Technology, School of Technology and Professional Services Management (STPSM) invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in the Fashion Marketing Innovation Program. The appointment will start in the Winter 2025 semester.

The successful applicant will teach an in-person section of Fashion Marketing Innovation, (ATM-312 Textile 2, Gerber CAD-2) and other possible courses depending on availability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.

Perform related departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum required qualifications include Master of Science with concentration in Fashion or related area. In addition, the applicant should have current professional experience in Fashion Textiles, Textile Application (Textile 2); Gerber CAD, AccuMark software, product
development and design manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in textile fibers and fabric, trend forecasting, business of fashion.

The ability to design a supportive and interactive learning environment, encouraging student participation, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Provide constructive feedback on student work to enhance understanding and application of concepts.

The concept of bringing real-world experience and industry insights into the classroom, sharing case studies, and examples.

Collaborate with the Fashion Marketing Innovation department to enhance the program and program events.

The department/school may approve exceptions or equivalencies that demonstrate relative background in academic research and/or professional accomplishments on a case-by-case basis.
