The Williams College Facilities Department is pleased to announce an immediate opportunity for a full-time (40 hours per week), year-round Lead Custodian role.
Under general direction of a Custodial Manager, the Lead Custodian is responsible for the direction of up to 10 staff members in the day-to-day custodial operations of all campus buildings. The Lead Custodian manages time off requests, monitors overtime, enters work orders, performs building inspections and reports problems. Additional responsibilities include general cleaning, light maintenance work, snow shoveling in the winter, carpet and floor care, bed making in the summer conference season and other duties as assigned.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 5:30am to 2:00pm.
Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the department. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
interacting with faculty, fellow staff members and
students
- Demonstrate good customer service and communication skills, and
perform with the highest degree of integrity
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds with assistance,
stand for prolonged period of times, and work on ladders
- Experience in general cleaning, maintenance, carpet and floor
care is desirable
- Ability to utilize wearable equipment
- Must maintain a valid MA driver's license
