General Information

The George L. Argyros College of Business and Economics at Chapman University invites applications for a Tenured Associate or Full Professor of International Business beginning August 1, 2025.

This position includes an initial three year appointment as the Fletcher Jones Chair in International Business.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in scholarly research, leading to publications in high-quality journals.
  • Teach a range of international ropics in business disciplines that reflect the specialty interests of the candidate and the needs of the department.
  • Actively contribute as an integral member of the Argyros College faculty by engaging in department and university service as expected of an Associate or Full Professor.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality courses.
  • Offer regular office hours to provide students with opportunities for one-on-one consultations, academic advising, and clarification of course materials.
  • Contribute to the overall mission of the institution by attending program meetings and supporting campus-wide initiatives and events.
  • Serve on academic committees or task forces within the institution, contributing to discussions and decisions related to academic policies, curriculum development, and other relevant matters.
  • Associate or Full Professors are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and are evaluated on their research/scholarly/creative activity, teaching, and service.
Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or other relevant discipline from an AACSB-accredited business school or equivalent for international applicants is required. (Note, official transcripts showing the conferral of degree are required prior to the start of employment.)
  • Demonstrated ability of effective teaching in courses that reflect the specialty interests of the candidate and needs of the department at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Excellence in scholarship, as evidenced by journal publications and a well-defined research agenda for sustained publications in top-tier journals are also required.

Application reviews will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $290,000. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. This position is contingent on final budget approval. Successful completion of a background check is required for the final candidate.
