Description

The Office of Admissions invites applications for an Admissions Representative I to join their team. This position will counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the University of Montana.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing one-on-one and group admissions counseling to diverse populations.
  • Representing the University both on- and off-campus to a prospective student, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
  • Effectively using data to plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories.
  • Serving as a liaison between prospective students and academic departments, colleges and schools, admissions evaluations and others.
  • Planning recruitment initiatives within the parameters of defined budget and reporting budget updates to Director of Admissions.
  • Making commitments on behalf of the university.
  • Coordinating and contributing to the success of various programs, committees, initiatives and activities that impact recruitment at the University of Montana.
  • Collaborating with Marketing on enrollment marketing materials and strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with prospective students and their families.
  • Ability to talk knowledgably about UM and answer questions about academic programs, financial aid, student life, etc.
  • Effective public speaking and written communication skills with the ability to make presentations and represent the University of Montana in a professional manner in multiple cultural settings.
  • Ability to coordinate/schedule large and small events.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead a project to completion.
  • Demonstrated planning and decision-making skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Montana’s Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
Additional Information

Position Number: 005370
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year
Probationary Period: Six (6) months minimum
