Seton Hall University invites applications for a full-time faculty position specializing in forensic accounting with an anticipated start date of August 2024. Faculty rank of tenure-track associate/assistant professor or lecturer depend upon the candidate's qualifications and previous experience.

The faculty member will be a part of the Department of Accounting and Taxation at the Stillman School of Business, and also participate in teaching with the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice in the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will depend on faculty rank. The faculty member serving as an assistant professor will be expected to engage in an active research program while teaching courses in criminal justice/criminology and accounting/forensic accounting (3/3 teaching load). The candidate is also expected to participate in curriculum development. The faculty member serving as a lecturer will be expected to teach coursework in criminal justice/criminology and accounting/forensic accounting (4/4 teaching load). All faculty are expected to maintain a presence on the South Orange campus and participate in the institutional service activities.

Required Qualifications:

Candidate will be well qualified to teach in both the accounting and criminal justice disciplines.

A candidate for lecturer will also hold credentials balanced between accounting and criminal justice, including:

  • Master's-level academic credentials in a related discipline
  • Professional experience in a related field at a leadership level

    A candidate for the rank of assistant professor will hold credentials balanced between accounting and criminal justice, including:

  • Doctoral-level academic credentials (PhD in criminology, criminal justice, accounting, or a related discipline, “all but dissertation” accepted),
  • A demonstrated record of scholarship related to forensic accounting, fraud investigation, or white-collar crime, and
  • Undergraduate teaching experience

    An ideal candidate for the rank of associate professor will hold the above qualifications for assistant professor and also will have accumulated a portfolio of publications published in peer-reviewed journals, They will have established the potential to continue in their current research program and have demonstrated excellence in teaching.
