Position Title
Athletics Marketing Coordinator

Overview

Introduce and execute innovative strategies to maximize revenue generation and attendance for all 21 variety athletic programs. Work in collaboration with the external relations team including fundraising, ticket sales, and social media to ensure that Friar athletics is showcasing all its athletic programs and utilizing every revenue stream possible.

Essential Duties:
  • Develop and execute marketing plans that result in increased ticket sales and attendance for all 21 varsity athletic programs. Emphasis will be placed on the three ticketed sports of men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and men’s ice hockey with a targeted focus on men’s ice hockey. (20%)
  • Attend all men’s ice hockey games to facilitate all in game marketing efforts, including corporate sponsor activation, group sales opportunities, and donor hospitality. (20%)
  • Create content for all media outlets, including social media, television, radio, and email. Ensure that a strategy is in place so that all media platforms are being leveraged to reach the entire fan base. (15%)
  • Work directly with the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing to formulate a strategy to boost student attendance for all 21 varsity programs. This involves a strategy to engage the student body and maximize budgeted dollars to attract them to games. (15%)
  • Work in conjunction with Learfield and other partners to maximize corporate promotional revenue and Name, Image, and Likeness funds for Friar student-athletes. (15%)
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the men’s and women’s ice hockey programs and the lacrosse program, including processing purchase orders, expense reports, and invoices. Serve as the front facing point of contact welcoming all visitors and recruits at Schneider Arena. (15%)
Marginal Duties:
  • Perform all other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Three to five years’ experience in marketing, game day operations, event management, and social media or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including email, PowerPoint, and excel.
  • Intermediate skills in Adobe Creative Suite, including graphic design, social media, and video software.
  • Ability to work in a heavily collaborative environment with the ability to work cross­ functionally with other departments.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once in addition to daily administrative duties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adequately communicate with others across campus and develop and strengthen relationships inside and outside of Athletics.
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable with the ability to adjust quickly when changes/problems arise while still completing projects to the highest level of quality.
  • Effective written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively via email, over the phone, and in meetings.
