Summary
The Senior Program Management Associate for CRTEC serves as the liaison to manage interactions between CRTEC, Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) and Plan to Enhance Diversity (PED). The candidate may supervise staff employees, student workers, programs, or processes. The Senior Program Management Associate for the CRTEC program should be a highly collaborative, self-motivated, creative person who is adaptable to new processes with the capacity to function independently. The Senior Program Management Associate should be knowledgeable of current cancer educational activities across the continuum of learners, and will work with the managers of COE and PED in the Cancer Center.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement within the Greater Houston, TX area.
Job Duties
- Organizes research education programs.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships to foster intern recruitment, their research experience, and Outreach.
- Develops strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for intern research education programs and services.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to promote health equity for ethnic minority population.
- Knowledgeable (or able to become knowledgeable) about clinical research participation.
- Prepares materials, set-up, plans, and implements events and networking activities.
- Serves as direct contact for students, faculty, and the community by phone, email or website inquiry.
- Ensures day to day operations of the CURED Program and CREP program at BCM.
- Vets and updates all information shared through the CURED Program.
- Maintains accurate event calendar and communicate event details with the team.
- Coordinates/schedules events, team meetings, steering committee meetings, collaborator meetings, luncheons, seminars, webinars, conferences, and travel plans.
- Prepares research education materials including protocols, lab manus, course materials etc.
- Prepares meeting agendas, reserves rooms and facilities, and distributes minutes of meetings.
- Initiates and completes agreements for speakers, consultants, and professional service providers.
- Compiles all data required for progress and financial report.
- Coordinates and tracks recruitment of interns/scholars and tracks deliverables.
- Verifies information or records and ensures accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains program website and social media platforms.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.
- Orders and maintains supplies and education materials for CURED/CREP.
- Tracks and reconciles CURED program expenditures.
- Initiates requisitions, tracks purchase orders and ensures timely payments of all invoices.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in one of the following areas: biological science, public health, or health education.
- Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational presentations, discussion, and facilitation.
- Demonstrated skills in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft outlook, Teams, Office 365).
- Supervisory skills to effectively manage student staff or volunteers.
- Quantitative and qualitative research skills or willingness to learn (e.g., research design, survey development, community engagement studios/focus group design and facilitation, data analysis and interpretation, etc.).
- Professional writing, publications, and/or presentation skills.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with strong public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated experience in effective conflict management and resolution.
