Summary
Responsible for overseeing client services within the Epic environment, including the coordination of releases, updates, and future upgrades. Engage directly with business owners to provide operational and technical support for various third-party clinical applications and the clinical computing infrastructure. Collaborate closely with Baylor Medicine, key stakeholders, and BCM IT staff to ensure adherence to critical service level agreements and to optimize operational efficiency using available technologies.
This position is eligible to work hybrid within the Greater Houston, TX area with only occasional onsite as needed.
Job Duties
- Leads and directs other Clinical Computing Environment Analysts.
- Manages, engineers, and supports the Epic environment, 3rd party integrations, clinical data interfaces and specialty applications.
- Uses superior consulting skills in assisting clinical departments in analyzing, planning, and implementing clinical information technology infrastructure projects.
- Responsible for system administration, user administration, and end user support for clinical computing and applications.
- Provides visibility and interact as a liaison between Information Technology group, the clinical community and the business owners.
- Performs analysis, diagnosis, and problem solving for clinical computing environment while collaborating and fostering teamwork within BCM IT groups.
- Monitors system health and performance; implements corrections and improves performance and manageability.
- Resolves the highest level complex and non-routine hardware, software, operating system and integration problems that related to the support systems.
- Proactively identifies infrastructure and application issues and makes recommendations to remedy.
- Performs technical changes including documenting the environment, maintaining change control policies, maximizing technology utilities and managing the clinical application environment.
- Triages and manages break/fix, and prioritization while communicating effectively to the end user.
- On-call, after hour and weekend support is required on a rotating schedule.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Six years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience to include working in a clinical computing environment and system administration experience
- Experience with supporting the Epic environment and/or Epic clinical modules
- Windows server administration
- Interconnect and Mychart experience is a plus
- Epic Client Systems certifications (ECSA or ECSM) a plus
- Linux server administration is a plus
