University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Bone Marrow Transplant specialist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services.
The pediatric cancer program provides comprehensive care to a wide variety of patients with hematologic malignancies including acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, and histiocytic disorders. The Division has a robust Adolescence and Young Adult (AYA) cancer program in collaboration with the NCI-designated, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Iowa. The scope of practice includes but is not limited to the enrollment of multi-institutional clinical research protocols, CAR T cell therapy, gene therapy, and other innovative clinical protocols. The division is involved in cutting-edge research that is funded by the NIH and nonfederal agencies.
Requirements:
Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics or equivalent
Board certified or eligible in pediatric hematology-oncology or equivalent
Completed fellowship training in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship training in a major Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant institution with 2 years experience working as a pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant physician.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
Desirable qualifications:
Interest and/or expertise in bone marrow transplant
Experience in patient-oriented research
Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents
Evidence of scholarly activity
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

For its 2023-24 edition of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” U.S. News & World Report ranked UI Stead Family Children's Hospital in six pediatric specialties: neonatology, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, and urology.
