Position Summary:

The Department of Special Education, Language, and Literacy (SELL) at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is seeking an Assistive Technology and Accessibility Specialist to ensure that students with disabilities throughout the state of New Jersey obtain access to and receive training in Assistive and Accessible Technology to complete their academic tasks. Reporting to the Project Director, the Assistive Technology and Accessibility Specialist will be responsible for providing a wide range of services with a focus on enhancing accessibility and inclusion in New Jersey’s educational institutions. The role entails training, technical assistance, assessments, and the development of resources to support students with disabilities and educators throughout the state of New Jersey.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to all involved regarding software, devices and equipment
  • Webinar development and Community Network trainings and access for all acquired equipment and AT devices within created inventory
  • Resource management and maintaining in-house inventory
  • Advocate for accessibility initiatives and policies within the state of NJ through collaboration with the NJ DoE
  • Assist Project Director in creating future plans and procedures for continuous improvement and ongoing evaluation of all AT Center activities
Required Qualifications:
  • Several Years of experience within the field of Assistive Technology
  • Masters Degree or higher
  • Demonstrated ability to…organize, create, collaborate and outreach

  • Strong skills in the evaluation and provision of Assistive Technology for Learning
  • Strong skills and experience working with students with disabilities in core curricula content areas of literacy and numeracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Employer Qualifications:
