Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530315), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, with the attainment of the status as Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent. Those with a higher academic qualification (e.g. MD, MS, PhD) would be advantageous. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to, and evidence of, excellence in teaching, curriculum development and supervision of postgraduate students. They should also have a track record of high quality impactful research as indicated by publication and competitive grants.

The appointee will focus on the education of medical students, postgraduate teaching and supervision, as well as academic research. He/she may be assigned to discharge duties at hospital(s) and clinic(s) affiliated with HKU Health System.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
