Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in any field and three years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in any field and one year of relevant experience. Relevant experience must be in a post-secondary educational setting involving direct student contact, routine use of student records and record systems, and supporting student success. Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products. Strong customer services skills and ability to solve problems. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications: Banner experience, supervisory experience, familiarity with New York State and federal policies pertaining to student enrollment and student life, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Nature and Scope of Duties: The Manager of Student Services is based at HVCC North in Malta, NY, and travel to HVCC’s main campus in Troy, NY may occasionally be required. The Manager reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and/or their designee and performs the following duties:

• Represents all Student Affairs departments with a physical presence at HVCC North.

• Serves as on-site manager for Student Affairs staff and related work and works closely with Student Affairs staff to ensure appropriate coverage for work and events.

• Maintains accurate records, including collecting information on the number and nature of visits to HVCC North as they related to Student Affairs departments.

• Assist prospective and current students with questions, concerns and/or issues related to Student Affairs departments in-person and via e-mail, telephone and videoconference.

• Makes appropriate referrals to other offices and departments when necessary.

• Collaborates with Student Affairs and HVCC North staff to develop student programming.

• Works closely with HVCC departments, including Student Affairs and Academic Affairs, to ensure a positive student experience at HVCC North.

• Continually develops skills and knowledge to effectively assist students and seeks professional development opportunities to remain current on best practices in Student Affairs as appropriate.

• Makes recommendations related to enrollment procedures and student supports for HVCC North students.

• Participates in implementation of new software and procedures at HVCC North as appropriate.

• Works with a variety of external organizations and makes presentations as required.

• Assists other offices within the division of the Student Affairs on an as needed basis.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $64,000-$67,000.
