The School of Theatre & Dance in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Playwriting & Dramaturgy with a start date of Fall 2025. Successful applicants will have a primary teaching interest in playwriting/dramaturgy with additional expertise in theories of performance. Experience teaching theatre history is a plus as is a record of professional productions as a playwright.

Responsibilities include teaching in support of the BFA Playwriting & Dramaturgy program as well as core curricula at both the undergraduate and graduate level. This position will also oversee and mentor playwriting students as part of the UH theatre season, including the 10-Minute Play Festival.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a MFA in Playwriting or Dramaturgy or PhD in Theatre with relevant expertise, and teaching experience at the university level.
