Description:
Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.
1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program.
2. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
4. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
8. May serve as property custodian for the department.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.

Auxiliary Services manages the contracts and operations for dining/food services, campus stores, snack and beverage vending and pouring rights, and retail leasing. The Program Manager for Auxiliary Services will provide contract and data management and analysis for Auxiliary Services Programs.
The Program Manager will be responsible for managing Cougar Textbook Access Program (CTAP) customer service and program assessment via focus groups, surveys, and other assessment tools; and will support the contract compliance and operations for the UH Campus Store. The position will assist with internal and external outreach efforts to support all auxiliary services programs; examples include Finals Mania and new student orientation. The position will also compile charts, tables, and other elements of data visualization using Revenue Vision.
The program manager will also support the RAD Center building and multi-purpose room. This may include overseeing bookings of the space and may require a flexible schedule on occasion to accommodate night and weekend events.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills; proficient writing skills; expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure with tight deadlines; be innovative, creative, a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and self-motivated.
This position reports directly to the director of auxiliary services. Experience in a University setting strongly preferred. Experience with Revenue Vision or other contract compliance or data management tools preferred. Some knowledge of event and/or space planning is desired.
