Class Description

The purpose of this position is to provide professional level program support services to the Adjunct Faculty Centers and the Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning & Leadership.

Minimum Requirements

Associates Degree required and three (3) years’ experience working in an office or education environment, preferably a business or higher education setting which is customer service oriented. Bachelor’s degree preferred and one (1) year of identical experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and desktop publishing software. Proven capability to manage projects independently; excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to solve problems independently are required. Prior experience writing documents for an academic audience and working in higher education is preferred.

This position will work on the Essex and Dundalk campuses

This position is 19.5 hours per week (work between 9am and 9pm 4 days a week)

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Assist and provide information on the services of the Adjunct Faculty Centers to adjunct and full-time faculty, administrators and the college community in person and on the telephone.
  2. Support the work of Service Learning and other programs in the Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning and Leadership as assigned.
  3. Assist with special projects, meetings and/or professional development events such as winter adjunct conference and adjunct awards ceremonies.
  4. Create promotional materials, newsletters and fliers for various faculty/professional development activities. Produce a monthly newsletter for adjunct faculty communication.
  5. Serve as liaison between the Adjunct Faculty Centers and other offices or organizations.
  6. Research, analyze and process data into college systems.
  7. Create and maintain records and files for the Adjunct Faculty Centers and other programs under the Center for Transformative Teaching, Learning & Leadership.
  8. Order supplies and materials for the Centers, keep center space organized and attractive.
  9. Compile reports, documents, forms and correspondence.
  10. Create and track check requests, requisitions, work orders and other request forms.
  11. Manage calendars for department personnel.
  12. Process and manage all relevant personnel paperwork.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
Parking
Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
