The Campus Rec Student Worker is responsible for performing
operational tasks for Campus Recreation programs and facilities.
They will provide excellent customer service, maintain facility and
asset cleanliness, ensure that all policies are followed by guests
and participants, and ensure all safety measures are being
implemented.
The Event Assistant is responsible for overseeing the coordination of Campus Recreation internal and external events. This position is responsible for ensuring effective operations and a high level of customer service during Campus Recreation events through assessing event and customer needs, implementing effective solutions, maintaining clean facilities, and ensuring the completion of event set up and tear down. The Event Assistant will promote Campus Recreation programming and events to maintain a vast customer base.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring that all Campus Recreation events operate effectively and efficiently, while assessing customer needs and implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure event set-up and tear down is completed satisfactorily.
- Responsible to ensure clean and organized indoor facilities through stocking supplies and maintaining clean restrooms and public spaces.
- Communicate regularly with customers to ensure satisfaction during events.
- Assist in the maintenance and adherence of policies and procedures during events at Campus Recreation facilities, ensuring compliance with University policies.
- Complete day to day operational tasks to track Campus Recreation events and promote programming and events.
- Regularly assist with events and operations during evening, nights or weekend hours.
- Attend all required Campus Recreation trainings and meetings.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by the Communications Coordinator to assist with Campus Recreation operations and programming.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
- Currently Liberty University student
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- Ability to work up to 18 hours per week
- Availability to work a variety of different shifts (weekends, early morning, afternoon, late night)
- Experience in event planning
- Experience in a customer service position
- Desire to pursue Recreation Management as a career field
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
- Frequently required to travel to local and campus locations.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 40 or fewer pounds.
- The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is split between a climate-controlled office setting and both indoor and outdoor facilities. All areas are well lit and the noise level is moderate.
