Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION
Coach will supervise and develop the Club Golf team in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the governing bodies for the club team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to the policies and guidelines set forth by the University and the Dean of Students department.
- Instruct student-athletes in the rules, fundamentals, and team concepts of golf.
- Develop and implement practices and competitions to provide a positive and competitive experience for players.
- Build a network of college club programs and tournaments that are an appropriate match for our team to compete against.
- Establish team rules and protocols and implement and enforce appropriately.
- Provide team supervision at practices and competitions both on and off campus. Interpret and implement the rules and regulations of the team, the department and the university.
- Provide consistent communication to current student-athletes and prospective players.
- Meet regularly with the Director of Recreation to evaluate roster, budget and schedule.
- Represent the university and team at recruitment related events.
- Must adhere to all NCAA/Conference/Salve Regina University rules and regulations.
- In particular, club sport coaches are charged with being knowledgeable of and assuring and monitoring compliance consistent with all student-athletes, staff and assistant coaches with applicable governing constitutions, by-laws, rules, policies, interpretations and regulations of the NCAA and the University. Staff members shall immediately advise the compliance office if there is a reason to believe that violations have occurred or will occur and shall cooperate fully in any investigation of possible NCAA or Conference violations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Recreation to include assistance with intramural programs.

Required Qualifications
- A passion for the university's work in creating a diverse and inclusive community is expected.
- Must be a self-starter and problem solver.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
- Experience in mentoring high school and/or college students.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Baccalaureate degree.
- Competitive athletic experience.
- Coaching experience at the high school, club or college level.
- Chauffer's license or willingness and ability to obtain equivalent endorsement.
