Research Assistant – Post Doc to work up to 40 hours/week in a WiCE
Research Lab.
Research Assistant – Post Doc position available in the WiCE Laboratory located in the 501OEC – LAB 343.
As a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, you will provide advanced research and development support in the areas of data engineering, data science, security, cloud systems, systems engineering, and programming. Your responsibilities include working with NoSQL databases, particularly Accumulo, and developing data ingest and query frameworks for managing high-velocity, high-veracity data, supporting AI/ML data management efforts. You will also need to code in Java, C++, or Python to implement and test software solutions. You will be expected to guide and mentor students, review their work, and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality outcomes. You will play a critical role in shaping their learning experience and development as researchers and engineers.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information and impose certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2024 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures, descriptions of prevention and awareness programs, related university procedures and important guidance, and other essential safety information.

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).

- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, publications, and presentations.
- PhD in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, and Python programming.
- Preferred experience with NoSQL databases, particularly Accumulo, and knowledge of data ingest and query frameworks.
- Strong background in data engineering, data science, cloud systems, security, and systems engineering.
- Experience in data management for AI/ML applications.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
