About the Department:

About the Position:

Digital Photography 1 focuses on DSLR camera techniques, image editing, and project-based learning, culminating in high-quality inkjet prints. Students explore composition, lighting, and digital post-production while developing their own artistic vision through hands-on assignments. Alongside the development of their technical skills, students explore the historical and contemporary contexts of photography, enhancing their awareness in the medium.

Responsibilities:

Teach two sections of Digital Photography 1. Classes meet once a week in-person, with access to teaching facilities, including a Mac computer lab.

Required Qualifications:
  • MFA required (recent MFA graduates encouraged to apply);
  • Art and/or documentary photography experience (exhibition and/or publication record);
  • Commitment to teaching and mentorship; and
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant professional experience;
  • Teaching experience at the university-level; and
  • Demonstrated experience working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
