Job Summary
This position is located in Opelika, AL
National Center for Asphalt Technology ( NCAT ) seeks candidates for an Administrative Support Associate. The position will provide administrative and general clerical support with responsibility for a broad variety of office and project support duties and tasks.
The National Center for Asphalt Technology ( NCAT ) was established in 1986 as a partnership between Auburn University and the National Asphalt Pavement Association ( NAPA ) Research and Education Foundation to provide practical research and development to meet the needs of maintaining America’s highway infrastructure. NCAT was created to ensure this industry’s ability to provide pavements that are durable, sustainable, quiet, safe and economical. We work with state highway agencies, the Federal Highway Administration and the highway construction industry to develop and evaluate new products, design technologies and construction methods that quickly lead to pavement improvements.

This is a two year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment will be contingent upon availability of funding.
Essential Functions
- Performs multiple duties which are a mix of administrative and clerical in nature, which may include, but are not limited to data gathering, data management, correspondence, filing, calendar management, event scheduling, registration, mail distribution, answering the phone, website maintenance, and purchasing/ordering supplies.
- Provides budget tracking and monitoring, payroll processing, travel/expense voucher processing, as well as other expenditure processing.
- Advises faculty, staff, and students of standard policies or procedures.
- Acts as a liaison to other departments, clients, and students on behalf of manager, director, or department head.
- Acts as point of contact for purchasing or vendor/outside agencies.
- May perform some administrative duties which may include, but are not limited to budget coordination, human resources administration (beyond payroll entry), recruitment coordination, preparation of reports/documents/presentations, or coordination of complex projects or events.
Minimum Qualifications
Level I – High School Diploma and 2 years experience in clerical and administrative support services
