Position description:
We prefer candidates with expertise in the economics of gender, race, inequality, or industrial organization for one position. We also have some preferences for candidates who can teach environmental economics. This position falls under the following Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classifications:
D – Microeconomics
G – Finance
H – Public Economics
I – Health, Education, and Welfare
J – Labor and Demographic Economics
L – Industrial Organization
M – Business Administration and Business Economics, Marketing, Accounting, Personnel Economics
O3 - Innovation, Research and Development, Technological Change, Intellectual Property Rights
Q5 - Environmental Economics
The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. by September 1, 2025, an established record of teaching excellence, a strong research program, and will be able to teach Introduction to Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, or Econometrics as well as elective courses related to their specialization.
About the Economics Department:
Our teaching load is six courses over three ten-week terms, up to two of which may take the form of supervision of undergraduate theses. Tenure track hires have a one-course load reduction in their first year and receive additional research support. Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $93,000-96,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
