POSITION: Tenure-Track Position in Psychology/ Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology
LOCATION: Department of Psychology
Job Description: The Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time tenure track appointment as an Assistant Professor commencing September 2025 to teach at New Jersey City University (NJCU) William J. Maxwell College of Arts & Sciences. This is a 10-month position carrying a minimum 24 credit-hours teaching load per academic year.
A doctoral degree in psychology is required with clinical experience in counseling and assessment as a licensed psychologist and/or certified school psychologist, preferred. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching and should have superior organizational skills. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred. The successful candidate will supervise clinical field placements, provide course work in such areas as Advanced Counseling, Psychopathology, and Abnormal Psychology. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to teach both basic and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as technical courses in cognitive assessment and consultation. The successful candidate will participate in student advisement, maintain at least 5 hours of on-campus office hours, and contribute to the functioning of the department through committee work.
