The Research Assistant will assist the Dean or a Faculty member of
the Law School with various projects by utilizing library and
internet resources to research topics and then summarize the
findings. This position involves in-depth legal research and
writing projects assigned by the Dean or a Faculty member.

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- Current enrollment in Liberty University School of Law
- Must be in good academic standing
- Legal research and writing experience
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of a
routine and complex nature
- Strong ability to work with and learn a variety of computer
systems
Communication and Comprehension
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Possess communication skills needed to discuss and document
research progress.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and
apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and
complex nature.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform
deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively
communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move
about the building.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
