Postdoctoral Research Associate - Quantum Materials and Optics

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The DeLTA lab, part of Northeastern University Quantum Materials and Sensors Institute (QMSI), situated at the Innovation Campus in Burlington, MA, invites applications from highly qualified individuals to fill a Postdoctoral Research Associate position on Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Quantum Magnets. The DeLTA lab combines in-house state-of-the-art ultrafast non-linear optical polarimetry techniques and time-resolved ARPES with resonant x-ray experiments at synchrotron and free electron laser facilities worldwide. The project will involve, but is not limited to, discovering and exploring new non-thermal pathways to control quantum magnetism in complex magnets. The successful candidate will be expected to develop optical setups, be the lead experimentalist at beam times, and collaborate closely with other groups as the project requires. They will supervise graduate and undergraduate students, write proposals, and peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop and establish themselves as a scientific leader in quantum materials and ultrafast science. The search will commence immediately and remain open until the position is filled. The duration of this position is for two years, with the possibility of extension for a third year upon demonstrating satisfactory progress.

The DeLTA lab prioritizes upholding a safe and inclusive work environment for all identities and life experiences.
