Position Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yale University invites applications for a position to be appointed at the instructional faculty rank of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The initial appointment is for three years, but may be renewed conditional upon a favorable review in the penultimate year and the teaching needs of the Department. Applicants are expected to excel in teaching project-based mechanical and machine design courses at the undergraduate level, as well as related concepts such as computer-aided design, machine elements, and manufacturing methods. The position will include working with faculty and graduate student instructors in existing design-related courses as well as developing new courses in mechanical and machine design.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field at the time of hire and have experience teaching mechanical and machine design courses at the University level. An undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering is also desirable, as is further experience designing mechanical or electromechanical systems in industry or academia.
