Miami Dade College is now accepting applications for Faculty, Speech

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
  • Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
  • Participates in a variety of Departmental, Campus and College-wide programs, activities and committees and develops curricula
  • Prepares and submits student information to Department Chairperson
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Communication, Communication Studies, Human Communication or Speech Communication; or Master’s degree in a related discipline (which may include, but not limited to, Mass Communication, Rhetoric, Organizational Communication, Global Communication, Business Communication, Sports Communication, or Theatre Arts) with at least 18 graduate hours of coursework in communication theory or research, including 6 (six) graduate semester hours in communication theory or research with an additional 12 (twelve) graduate hours related to course competencies. 
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
  • Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
  • Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated on or before beginning of the Spring Semester 2025
