Miami Dade College is now accepting applications for Faculty, Information Systems Technology (Bachelor's Program)

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
  • Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
  • Develops and teaches online courses
  • Teaches Dual Enrollment classes
  • Recruits, advises and evaluates students
  • Prepares and writes grants for the School of Engineering and Technology
  • Teaches information systems technology courses college wide
  • Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities and committees
  • Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g., Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity); or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science or related field (e.g., Information Technology, Networking and Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity)
  • Ability to use innovative teaching techniques
  • Must have a passion for teaching in technology
  • Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction
  • Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instructions
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated on or before the beginning of Spring Semester 2025
  • Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
