Position Summary
The Department of Psychology at the University of Georgia (www.uga.edu/psychology) invites applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in Human Cognitive Neuroscience, to begin Fall 2025.
Candidates will affiliate with one or more of the Psychology Department’s core training areas (Behavioral and Brain Sciences, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Clinical Psychology) and may join the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Neuroscience graduate program. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching needs of the Psychology Department at the graduate and undergraduate level. This position is part of a cluster hire in support of a new BS degree in Neuroscience. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the implementation of this degree by supporting associated teaching needs.
The Department of Psychology has approximately 45 faculty members, 90 doctoral students, and 2100 undergraduate Psychology majors. Successful applicants will join a nationally prominent and productive research faculty and department that is dedicated to supporting faculty research. Collaboration within the department and across the University is highly encouraged. One resource of interest to candidates is BioImaging Research Center ( BIRC ; https://birc.uga.edu ), a multi-imaging research facility providing a range of biological tissue imaging technologies to multiple biomedical investigators in programs across the UGA campus, their students, and other researchers. The BIRC includes a large bore 3T MRI, 1T (with integrated PET ) and 7T small bore MRIs for rodent imaging, magnetoencephalography, and two EEG systems (64 and 256 sensor systems). This facility is a multi-disciplinary research-dedicated resource that fosters collaborative, extramurally funded research among human, animal and cellular scientists at UGA and scientists in other federal, state and private agencies or organizations.
