Job Description:

The Center for Public Safety Innovation (CPSI) seeks a full-time Assistant Research Professor to support the Center’s existing projects and grow the Center’s portfolio of sponsored projects and training programs. The incumbent would collaborate with the Executive Director of CPSI to identify new opportunities funded by federal, state, and foundation grants that support applied research activities to enhance public safety efforts and align with the Center projects. Under the CPA vision, the incumbent would work collaboratively with the School of Criminal Justice and College to identify public safety and law enforcement related training and educational opportunities. This would develop a model of revenue generation that meets the training and educational needs of the industry while supporting opportunities for program enrollment. The position would also support efforts between the Center and the School of Criminal Justice to create additional grant revenue.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Identify grant opportunities at the federal, state, and foundation level that align with the Center’s mission and support other grant related activities.
- Provide management and oversight to existing sponsored projects within the Center.
- Collaborate with the College communications manager to broaden the Center’s outreach efforts to attract new partners.
- Manage and maintain relationships with UBalt faculty to develop broader collaboration between the Center and the School of Criminal Justice.
- Oversee the Center’s internship opportunities with the College and University.
- Be available to teach a 1-1 load for the School of Criminal Justice as needed.
Teaching Load:
- Load of 1 -1 in courses such as Introduction to Criminal Justice and/or Law Enforcement


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree minimum (PHD or equivalent preferred)
- 3+ years of professional experience supporting grants or government
- Project management experience
