Job Details

The Department of Systems and Enterprises (SE) in the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science (SES) at Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) is inviting applications for open-rank tenure-track/tenured faculty positions. Exceptional candidates will be considered for an endowed chair position. These positions are available at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in the field of systems and industrial engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to establish both theoretical and applied research programs in emerging areas of systems engineering. Teaching responsibilities will span from undergraduate to advanced graduate-level courses. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in physical, cyber-physical, and software systems architecture, their design and optimization; systems security; applications of AI/ML to systems and software engineering; digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0; and innovative research related to improving performance, efficiency, and sustainability of aerospace, defense, energy, transportation, civil infrastructure, and health systems. We will also consider candidates with expertise in other emerging areas of systems and industrial engineering.

The SE Department has 26 full-time faculty members and offers three undergraduate degrees, five master’s, and three doctoral degrees. Additionally, we offer cutting-edge corporate education programs, on-premises and online, with 16 practice-based certificate programs. We are rapidly expanding, and these positions are part of a broader effort to strengthen our department's capabilities and reputation.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Systems, Industrial, Software Engineering or related engineering disciplines
  • Proven potential and dedication to impactful scholarship in both research and teaching
