The Department of Psychology at Shippensburg University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, effective August 2025. A successful candidate will teach courses related to the biological basis of behavior (at the undergraduate level), General Psychology, as well as develop and teach an online graduate course related to the biological basis of behavior. 
 

This position carries a 4-4 teaching load and requires delivering undergraduate and graduate (online) courses. The teaching responsibilities of this position include the following: courses related to the biological basis of behavior at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The teaching load would be rounded out with courses in General Psychology, and other courses related to the individual’s expertise. Faculty in the department utilize various teaching technologies and deliver courses in different modalities (e.g., face-to-face, blended/hybrid, online). Teaching assignments may include nights and/or weekends. A faculty member in our department is expected to advise psychology majors, involve students in scholarly activity outside the classroom, and contribute substantial service to the department, university, and community. In addition, faculty members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field of Psychology.
