The University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Art seeks to fill a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in 3D Foundations to begin August 1, 2025. The School of Art seeks applications from artists who are experienced and actively engaged in advancing equity and inclusivity.

The School of Art’s curriculum introduces students to a variety of conceptual and material approaches to sculpture. A candidate would contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, professional creative activity, and service to the academic community. Candidates will have strengths in traditional 3D practices including basic fabrication in wood and metal, clay, mold-making, assemblage and installation.

Responsibilities: Continue developing diversity competencies such as racial literacy and culturally responsive pedagogy in Foundations.  Teach 3 courses each semester in 3D Foundations and related areas.  Pursue an active and rigorous program of creative research.  Advise undergraduate and graduate students.  Supervise and mentor student research projects and theses.  Provide service to the department, college, university and community.

Review of applications will begin November 10th and continue until the position is filled.

Minimum Qualifications:  MFA or equivalent experience.  Significant record of peer-reviewed creative activity. Broad knowledge of historical and contemporary global practices in the visual arts.  Ability to situate your field in a social (cultural, historical) context.  Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
