Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify new government, corporate, foundation, and private funding prospects to match Delta State priorities.
- Provide technical assistance and training to faculty and staff in the various stages and components of proposal development (including targeted workshops and individualized training) and project implementation, including contracting with outside sources.
- Maintain primary responsibility for grant schedules and tracking grants.
- Coordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted proposals.
- Upgrade Grants Manual procedures.
- Prepare and submit the annual Title IIVTitle V Eligibility Waiver Application.
- Develop and maintain a master file on pending grants and contracts.
- Remain up-to-date on current issues relative to grant proposals.
- Meet regularly with faculty/staff to discuss current and new funding needs.
- Maintain cognizance of regulations and other matters of compliance with all grants including the GAN, FAQs, CFRs, emails, webinars, and all other communications.
- Inform the Executive Director of Sponsored Programs and Special Projects of the progress of all grants and issues that may arise with each grant.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of submitted, approved, and denied proposals and report same to Cabinet, IHL, IRP, and other entities regularly or on demand.
- Collaborate with multiple University offices (e.g., Accounting, Procurement, OIT) with new and continuing grant awards, authorize the establishment of grant funds according to grant awards, and monitor funds with the Grants Accounting Specialist.
- Approve internal budget revisions and assist project directors in submitting budget revision requests to funders when required.. In- collaboration with the Executive Director of Sponsored Programs and Special Projects, negotiate administrative and budgetary changes with the funder as needed.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director of Sponsored Programs and Special Projects, review travel
- requests and all employment -related forms for grant-funded employees and monitors programmatic requirements such as submission of periodic and final performance reports to ensure compliance with all grant stipulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years experience in grant writing or proposal development.
- Previous grant budget development and management.
- Experience that should demonstrate a proven track record of securing new funding
- Opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify opportunities for Delta State University.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes.
- Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel), and database management skills.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of the grant application process, scoring criteria, and funding cycles.
Previous federal grant application, submission, approval, and management of funds.
