Description: Carroll College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of English to teach all undergraduate levels of English beginning August 2025.  The successful applicant will join a small English program and will teach upper and lower division American literature courses and other courses suited to the candidate.  Members of the English program generally teach one course of first-year writing per year.  We are especially interested in candidates who could also offer courses in one or more of the following areas:

  • Native American Literature 
  • Environmental/Ecological Literature and Criticism
  • Medical Humanities Introductory
  • Creative Writing (combined poetry and fiction)

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have a PhD in English and/or American Literature preferred, ABD considered if dissertation defense is scheduled to occur on or before August 1, 2025.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
