Yale University seeks a visionary and passionate leader to serve as the next Director of the Yale Film Archive. Reporting to
the Associate University Librarian for Research & Learning, the Director will lead the Yale Film Archive and a team
of three responsible for delivering accessible and high-impact research and learning services to the Film and
Media Studies Program, the Yale community, and the global community.
The Director will oversee the film and media collections ensuring alignment with university research and learning
activities, library collection priorities, and sustainable stewardship principles. The film acquisition and
preservation programs will be overseen by the Director working closely with the Managing Archivist to ensure
alignment with research and learning strategies and collection priorities. The Director will act as the selector for
feature films and for the Film and Media Studies program. This role is also responsible for collection
development, management, and preservation of video, including management of funds for both tangible and
streaming collections.
