Job Description: The School of Global Business is seeking to fill a nine-month tenure track or non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in Finance.
The School of Global Business (SGB) is one of Arcadia University's specialty schools and colleges. Using a comprehensive curriculum and experiential learning environment, SGB is dedicated to developing socially responsible decision makers, critical thinkers, and effective communicators. SGB prepares students to become competent professionals informed by a global perspective by combining solid liberal arts studies with experiential learning, such as internships and corporate experiences.
SGB is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). SGB offers Bachelor's Degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, International Business and Culture, Marketing, and Sport Management. Students can pursue concentrations in Finance, Economics, and Management, as well as Minors in eight areas. SGB also offers a Master's Degree in Business Administration with specializations offered in Finance, Organizational Leadership, and Healthcare Finance. SGB is currently working on an expansion of the MBA program. The successful candidate would play a key role in the MBA program's growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a six-course load (~24 credits) per academic year including undergraduate and graduate offerings in multiple modalities (face- to-face, online, hybrid).
  • Preference will be given to those able to teach advanced courses in Finance and/or in a related discipline like Economics, Marketing, Healthcare, or Business Analytics.
  • Responsible for developing curriculum, advising students, publishing in peer reviewed journals, and creating relationships within the Philadelphia business community to create job opportunities for Arcadia's students.
  • Play a critical role in the development and expansion of the MBA program.
  • Provide service to the University and the community as a full-time faculty member of Arcadia University.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Finance (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) or related disciplines (i.e., in Economics with a concentration in Finance/Financial Economics) with teaching experience in Finance at the university level and a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Promising ABDs with relevant work-related experience who expect to have their degree completed by August 2025 will also be considered.
  • Exceptional candidates who hold a Master's degree in Finance (MS-Finance or MBA-Finance) with professional certifications (i.e., CFA, CPA, CMA), extensive college teaching, and industry experience in Finance will also be considered, but for the position of Assistant Professor of Practice (Non-tenure track)
  • The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in multiple formats (face-to-face, online, hybrid)
