The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. The DNP program includes NP (Nursing Practice) and CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) tracks. This position provides a 10-month appointment, but with a start date of January 1, 2025 for the academic year 2024-2025.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Vincentian higher education.
- Providing didactic and clinical instruction of nursing students primarily in the NP programs depending on experience and qualification.
- Engaging in course development, updating and submission of course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, research and development of resources for instruction, and utilization and development of instructional design methods that include technology.
- Serving as lead faculty for main courses and mentor adjunct faculty.
- Maintain active and productive scholarship, including a research agenda and dissemination.
- Advising graduate students.
- Serving on committees.
DePaul's School of Nursing offers BSN, Master's Entry into Nursing Practice, MSN-specialty, RN·MSN (online), DNP, and Nurse Practitioner tracks and certificates. Nursing Programs emphasize community engagement, service learning in vulnerable communities, social justice and excellent safe quality nursing care. Students are in clinical sites at over 50 health care institution.

QualificationsRequired qualifications
- Doctoral degree in nursing or related field is required.
- Equivalent of two years of clinical experience as an APN is required.
- Licensed as a NP or CRNA to practice in the state of Illinois or eligibility for same with application in process is required.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in teaching DNP students preferred.
- Online teaching experience desired.
- Proven scholarship and publication preferred.
