Job Description

The English Studies faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Literary Studies, beginning August 2025. We seek applicants with expertise in British or Anglophone literature (Long Eighteenth Century, Victorian, or Modernist), with demonstrated fluency in queer theory as well as the histories and literary representation of gender and sexuality. We especially welcome candidates whose scholarship and teaching take a multilingual, comparative, or diasporic approach.

This faculty line will be a joint appointment with the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program. The selected candidate will teach at least one course in the WGST program per year.

Teaching expectations will include a 3/3 course load comprising British literary surveys, first-year writing, lower-division literature courses in the university core, upper-division courses in gender and sexuality studies, and MA-level seminars. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop and teach courses in their specialization and will be expected to participate in appropriate service at the departmental, college, and university levels. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service that they can contribute our university's mission as a Hispanic and Minority Serving Institution.
