Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America's first research university and home to nine world-class academic divisions working together as one university.
We are seeking a Budget Analyst who will provide direct support to the Associate Administrator, Grants and Contracts Manager and faculty, for the Department of Radiology in the area of financial management with a prime focus on Post Award.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Using SAP and Excel to prepare financial reports and analysis when requested (e.g.: prepare detailed budget summaries monthly to review accounts).
- Run reports for reconciling, forecasting, and trending of financial data.
- Generate ad-hoc BW/Analysis reports to assist with institute strategic planning; develop forecasting models and projections.
- Development of reports and dashboards.
- Create forecasting models that optimize strategic decision making for financial leadership.
- Responsible for data analytics.
- Manipulate data and develop scenarios for financial reports and presentations to PI.
- Maintain internal salary tracking spreadsheets to allocate personnel salaries across various budget lines.
- Initiate and collaborate with PIs with reports, extensions, and other regular administrative matters specific to sponsored projects.
- SAP Transaction Processing.
- Allocate budgets in SAP for new awards.
- Process a variety of SAP transactions associated with budgets, personnel, and sponsored funding.
- Initiate SAP transactions within all modules such online payment requests, shopping carts, etc.
- Track documents from creation to payment and trouble shoot any problems that may occur.
- Assist Sr GCAs in monitoring the expenditure of funds throughout the life of a project following the guidelines of the sponsoring organization and the University.
- Clearing commitments billed to award and clears any orders that will not be fulfilled to maintain accurate spending projections on all projects managed.
- Allocate salaries for faculty and group members in SAP ensuring e-forms are in compliance and processed within 90 days for sponsored funds.
- Assist with compliance issues for sponsored research (i.e., cost transfers and effort reporting).
- Reconcile approximately 10 faculty and staff procurement cards. Obtain and submit required supporting documentation. Work with faculty and staff to properly allocate expenses.
- And any other duties as assigned or needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- One year of related progressively responsible experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $22.21 - $38.84 HRLY ($60,000 targeted;
Commensurate with experience)

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
