The Department of Economics, Business, and Accounting at Hillsdale College invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, subject to qualifications of the successful candidate, beginning fall 2022. Evidence of a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship is a must. Teaching responsibilities will include principles of microeconomics, principles of macroeconomics, and upper division electives. Fields are open, but fields in applied micro are particularly welcome. Ability to teach R, GIS, and other programming is desirable. Candidates must have a PhD in economics or expect to have completed the degree by September 2022. The teaching load is three classes each semester, with an average class size of approximately 25-30 students. The economics program at Hillsdale College includes an emphasis on New Institutional Economics, the Austrian School, Public Choice, and applied analysis, and regularly places students in strong graduate programs and the private sector.
